Selon Wierzbicka, ces reconstructions, telles qu&rsquo;on les trouve dans les travaux contemporains de psychologie, souffrent de d\u00e9formations ethnocentriques \/ anglocentriques. Les langues cat\u00e9gorisent l&rsquo;exp\u00e9rience humaine de multiples fa\u00e7ons, comme on peut le voir aux contrastes existant entre les lexiques des \u00e9motions dans des langues famili\u00e8res comme l&rsquo;anglais, le fran\u00e7ais et l&rsquo;italien\u00a0:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">French has no noun corresponding to an undifferentiated \u2018feeling\u2019 (although it has the verb sentir corresponding to the verb feel. It does have the term sentiment, which, (in contemporary French) stands exclusively for a cognitively based feeling. Furthermore, French has the word \u00e9motion, which, however, differs in meaning from the English emotion, and whose range is more narrow [\u2026] Generally speaking, the French \u00e9motion is thought of as involuntary, sudden, intense, and typically positive rather than negative. For example, tristesse \u201csadness\u201d or col\u00e8re \u201canger\u201d are not considered by my French informants as typical \u201c\u00e9motions\u201d, whereas in English sadness and anger rate very highly on the list of prototypical emotions [\u2026] Again, in French scholarly literature the word \u00e9motion is used in a sense modelled on that of the English emotion and borrowed from English scientific publications. (Wierzbicka 1995).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Quoi que l&rsquo;on pense de cette br\u00e8ve analyse du fran\u00e7ais, et du risque d&rsquo;alignement des concepts sur les particularit\u00e9s linguistiques de l&rsquo;anglais, il reste que le but de l&rsquo;analyse linguistique n&rsquo;est pas de construire une th\u00e9orie des \u00e9motions.<\/p>\n<p>En linguistique fran\u00e7aise, il semble qu&rsquo;on emploie peu volontiers le terme <em>\u00e9motion<\/em>, et qu&rsquo;on lui pr\u00e9f\u00e8re souvent <em>sentiment<\/em>, comme le montre le num\u00e9ro de <em>Langue Fran\u00e7aise<\/em> intitul\u00e9 <em>Grammaire des sentiments<\/em> (Balibar-Mrabti, 1995).<\/p>\n<p>Il y a au moins une raison d&rsquo;ordre pratique \u00e0 l&rsquo;usage de <em>\u00e9motion<\/em> : ce terme donne en effet acc\u00e8s \u00e0 une famille de d\u00e9riv\u00e9s facilement exploitables\u00a0: <em>\u00e9motif, \u00e9motionnel, \u00e9mu, \u00e9mouvoir, \u00e9mouvant<\/em>, alors que la famille de <em>sentiment<\/em> est r\u00e9duite \u00e0 <em>sentimental<\/em>, si l&rsquo;on passe sur <em>ressentir, ressentiment<\/em>.<br \/>\nOn peut par exemple discuter de la communication \u201c\u00e9motive\u201d ou \u201c\u00e9motionnelle\u201d en fran\u00e7ais, alors que la communication \u201csentimentale\u201d renvoie \u00e0 un tout autre domaine.
